Spending the weekend in Des Moines, IA for a wedding. Am I excited? Eh, there’s lots of corn and Casey’s General Store which has some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Seriously.
Flightpath today is RDU-DTW-DSM, and we have upgraded to, “Toyota 4Runner or similar,” as our rental car. I hope we get the 4Runner, as off-roading will ensue. If there’s any car relates things to do in Des Moines this weekend, please tell me as I have nothing else to do.

Or similar is probably a Hyundai Sante Fe. Not bad per se, but probably won't have the same off-roading chops.

But...why wouldn’t they actually use a corn harvester on this card instead of a hay baler? Besides the photo shopped corn, there’s only one image on there that actually features corn.

Don’t get me wrong, as I’ve had my share of Casey’s pizza and it is perfectly fine cheap pizza. However, if that’s some of the best pizza you’ve ever had, I feel a little bad for you.
Enjoy your weekend, and rental car hoonage! Nothing parties like a rental!

I should have specified gas station pizza, whoops. I hope it’s a 4Runner and not like a Kia Sorento or something. Ironically, the last time we rented a car we put in for a, “Ford Escape or similar,” and ended up with a Jeep Wrangler.

I’m moving to Des Moines in August. Great city, actually.
And Casey’s is palatable for what it is, but if it’s the best you’ve ever had...well, that’s a problem.

Last time we rented a vehicle, we put in for Ford Escape or similar and ended up with a Jeep Wrangler. Time before that we put in for Kia Optima or similar and ended up with a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I wonder what Jeep we’ll be getting today...

Oh yeah, as far as gas station pizza goes, Casey’s is great. A 4-Runner would definitely be more fun, but rental car insurance does significantly increase a vehicle’s capability.

There’s a Casey’s almost next door to my work. Can confirm about their pizza. I also hid my car under their awning during a recent hailstorm.

Damn. That’s not bad at all. I hope your Jeep luck continues. Provided it’s not a Compass. lol

If you enjoy Casey’s pizza, make sure you stop by a pizza ranch for their buffet. Enjoy the corn!

I meant to say gas station pizza, whoops. I haven’t actually spent time in Des Moines before, but I have been to Pella, Ottumwa, and Oskaloosa. All those towns are perfectly OK. Are you going to school here?

They do have large awnings.

I don’t know anything about corn.

Huh, I’m staying like five minutes from Drake, out near the massive airport. Whopping 12 gates, ya know. I was making banter on how Drake I is named after the Canadian rapper.
